I was told to choke myself with my belt, I believe.
Oh, and told that everything but boxing was ‘hoe shit’.
I would love to have a conversation with this man, but I’m fearful of him simply lashing out because he thinks I’m attacking him or something. I’ve found that some people have trouble with simply debating an opinion- it’s always an argument, which means they’re right and I’m wrong. Of course, I believe this man would rapidly delve to threats of physical harm, name calling, and, of course, attacks on my character.
It’s a shame, to be honest.
I pity this person.
I hope every one of you good people out there takes the high road on this as well. I tagged this similar to the fellow mentioned above so that you’d all see this response, because I want it known; having an opinion and the bravery to back it up is commendable, but using derogatory terms and implying that homosexuality is negative is not. For the record, neither is being told to ‘choke yourself’. That’s my only point here.
Opinions are like a good meal. No matter how valid or layered, how textured or properly prepared, if presented in an unflattering manner in a lackluster setting, even the most worthwhile opinions are reduced to nothing but, for lack of a better term… filler food.
Telling me to ‘get some’ and ‘fuck off’ probably won’t make me agree with your argument even if, in the very first place, I did indeed agree with you.
My apologies, I realize this isn’t martial art based.
I came across a post in which a man speaks on how when his girlfriend is harassed, he loses his temper and wants to kill. He also speaks on how he can break over half of the bones in the human body and knows all the pain points. He’s a black belt in Chinese martial arts (which is like having a black belt in MMA: generic and listless, devoid of substance without specification) and his girlfriend is a black belt in TKD (which is nice, and all, but… on the street? No offense, my TKD fans, you know I have mad respect for the art).
This isn’t my psychology blog, so I can’t exactly rip into everything wrong with this fellow, but I can say this; Overconfidence can get you killed.
I always say that you can’t lose a fight you’re not in.
Thanks much to Davetrains. Go check out his blog! He’s got some good stuff.
I once heard that eating is 75% of the battle with weight loss, but it could be a made up statistic.
Thanks! I hate cold water, I’ll have to get used to it haha.
Thanks for sticking with me during the ‘dark days’ where I didn’t post! I was so caught up in work and class and training, I neglected the blog and you guys and I’m sorry for that. I’ll do my best to keep it from happening again!
I start teaching again tomorrow! Krav Maga, to a handful of willing and able students. Fresh faces, all, I’m excited to start with the very basics and grind the proper mechanics into them, excited to watch them grow and develop.
How have you all been? What martial arts have you been up to?
Also, any advice on burning fat? I know the basics but always like to hear other peoples’ opinions.
A frontal line gun disarm at American Krav Maga in Kernersville
Way to go Kernsville KM! Thanks for the new disarm.
